Requests for applications are taken throughout the year, but applications are sent out September through December. The application fee is $35 and is followed by a scheduled parent-led tour in December and January and a small group play visit in February. Applicants will be notified by mail in early March.

Children applying to UPNS must be 2 by September of the year they are applying. Priority is given to returning students, siblings of current and/or returning UPNS families and faculty and staff of New York University. Classes run from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. An after school program until 4.30 pm is available at an additional cost. Our school year runs from mid-September to mid-June and loosely follows the NYC Public School calendar. UPNS also has a summer camp program for parts of June and all of July.

University Plaza Nursery School, Inc. is a non-profit school and member of the Parent's League of New York. The school complies with Federal, State and City statutes and welcomes children from all backgrounds.

January -- Application letters/ contracts for continuing students mailed
January -- Playdates (classroom visits for children and parents) scheduled
January 30 -- Contracts from continuing families due
First two weeks of February -- Playdates
February 6 -- Contracts from continuing families due
February 13 -- Sibling offer letters/ contracts mailed
March 2 -- Offer letters with contracts and wait list letters mailed
March 9 -- Contracts due
